Sorry for the hiatus...just trying to put things together and get on with life. Turns out the tax thing was a big mess up...hopefully we can get all that sorted by the end of business today. Life is going on.
Have you heard that song by India Arie " I am not my hair."? I've been living that for the last few weeks. I've decided to live without my extensions for a little while...I look wierd and not particularly attractive but I'm living light and cheap so Its all good!
I am not my hair!

In all my haste to overwork myself and try to put some money to pay off my debts I forgone key thing, for every chunk of money that I scrimp and save and work my ass of to earn the £$%*ing tax man takes a huge cut. I am so pissed off - literally one fifth of my earnings has been taken as tax. What the hell?!! I'm not a citizen here, I don't use any substantial social services...what the hell does this mean? No wonder people end up living on welfare. Seriously, no disrespect for anyone who has found themselves forced into it - I begin to see where you're coming from. I mean I would be better off wiating until the end of the month for a dole cheque rather than dedicating upto sixty hours a week to try and earn some decent cash. They talk about the debt trap in the UK and how people live under growing mountains of debt...well I'm trying to do right but yo the man seems determined to keep me down.
Can I be totally frank? I'm a practicing Catholic and I take my faith rather seriously but I have had moments of weakness when I've contemplated illegal things. That's when I knew things were bad. I know ma would chip in whenever I asked, but she's just settling into a new job after being out of work for almost a year, and she's already paying my (damned) expensive tuition so I feel really guilty about asking for extra cash every two weeks. So sometimes, I've thought about selling my stuff (which I need but hey), or doing some kind of clandestine business.
I just genuinely don't know what to do. I'm fed up with it all y'know.
And they wonder why people are always trying to steal stationery from government offices!
Don't let the man steal your soul.
Not without a fight. ;-)
